“Kiki” was the name of our beloved female Lhasa Apso. She lived to eighteen years and four months, which is a long life for a dog.
This tune is for her and it tries to depict the innocent playfulness of a high-spirited dog.
I went into the session to record this piece with only a rough idea of the chord changes and the idea that I would just sort of improvise a melody and then solo. Thus the piece has a certain looseness to it but I’m ok with that. It was a worthwhile experiment and resulted in a nice and “bouncy” record.
We now have a beautiful Havanese female named Sasha or “Sashi.”
