The Bigger Picture

“In the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul.
With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it still is a beautiful world.” Desiderata

The world seems like it is going through some rough changes the past several years, and that has me pondering the bigger picture. I remain hopeful (difficult sometimes) that people will eventually find their inner light.

This solo guitar performance relies on a repeat echo for its effect. I never have used “effects” much on my guitar sound but I was aiming at a “deep space” atmosphere on this piece to reflect the title’s  implications.

This one broke some new harmonic ground for me and the entire middle bit is improvised albeit an improv using chords and “dissolving” harmony and continually unexpected (even for me) modulations. It is commonplace for me to improvise single note lines but not chordal ideas.

The main recurring theme in this piece is supposed to be like a returning “mantra.”

Headphones help a lot here.

Stay well.
Be kind.
Love,
Reyn
