Tales From The North Woods

This song and recording is one I sometimes forget about because it isn’t part of my normal performing repertoire, which typically includes about 30 original pieces. I like it though.

I recently heard it on Spotify quite by accident and was pleasantly surprised.

As for the song title, I thought it had such a “woody” acoustic guitar ambiance and a “swampy” feel that the title seemed natural. There is a natural “antique patina” to this song.

This was recorded on a very inexpensive short-scale “Grande Bouche” guitar. I also used this guitar in the two live recordings recently sent out. I liked its funky sound, plus it was loud. A very utilitarian instrument. Sadly, it now lies in my basement in a state of great disrepair. This guitar is in the photo of the album cover you should be seeing as you listen.

Be kind.
Love,
Reyn
