I had Envisioned an ultra slow-motion bebop tune.
The shape of the progression and the slightly angular melody would be very Bop if you laid it under the appropriate drum part at 10 times the tempo and at a hard swing. Or so I thought. That’s what the impetus for a song needs. When you are coming up “dry” on new song ideas you can either try to describe an image or try some new thematic or formal concepts.
