Kiki

“Kiki” was the name of our female Lhasa Apso. She lived to eighteen years and four months old, which is a long life for a dog.

This tune is for her.

We now have a beautiful Havanese female dog named Sasha or “Sashi.”

I tried to write something that portrayed the unique wiggle Kiki had when she ran. Oddly, “Sashi” has a similar running motion, which is sort of mystical.
We have had at least one canine family member for most of the last 40-plus years.

I have never attempted to play this song since the day I recorded it.

Some songs have a certain “inevitable” thing about them that makes them destined to become part of the permanent repertoire, and others (like this one) are a meaningful addition but are meant to only exist as a moment in time. In that way, they have a specialness about them.

(Summer performance dates are now posted on my shows page. Be sure to check them out.)

Stay well.
Be kind.

Love,
Reyn
