This was the seventh and final new song and recording from the summer of 2022. All have been posted on my YouTube channel, which is my current primary mode of sharing music.
The song reflects the many attempts at “Zen” my age and life have led me to. I suppose a lyric like this reflects my “George Harrison” side, meaning an interest in the origins of consciousness. Any close friend who really knows me realizes how true these lyrics are.
(The “call-response” guitar solo was a direct and conscious nod to the B-side of the first record I made, “Oval Portrait,” when I was 16. John Waverek, the bass player on that early session, always reminds me that he was the one who urged me to overdub a second solo on a solo.)
