Some Quantum theorists suggest that all moments of “past, present, and future” could exist simultaneously in a timeless 4D “block universe.” This could mean all moments and beings are timeless and possibly eternal. The lyric of this song (which comes at its end) hints at something like that.
On March 26, 2020 (as the pandemic began) I went into the back room of our house and “demoed” this piece on the memo app of my iPhone. I was surprised that a song appeared so quickly but even more surprised when this relatively low-tech “live” recording sounded fairly good. This kind of thing rarely happens and that is why it will remain a sort of “happy accident” in my catalog.
I had a concept for a video and passed on the demo and the concept to my friend Rene Erickson who creates most of my video projects. To my surprise he took the recording and created a great video for it that day. The whole project from conception to final video took less than twelve hours. This recording is just me, a Fender telecaster, small amp and an iPhone.
(Please be aware that there are lyrics and a vocal in this song, which are very important but don’t occur until near the end of the piece. The message is an apt one, I hope, for this new year.)
