Tomorrow, May 16, 2023, will be the 70th anniversary of gypsy guitar great Django Reinhardt’s departure from this quaint old vale of tears.
The town of Samois-sur-Seine, France (near Fontainebleau) is where he made his home toward the end of his rather short life and it was there that he collapsed at a cafe while having his morning coffee on that fateful day or so the story goes. This waltz is a small tribute.
