I recently had archive shelving built in the basement to house all of the CDs, vinyl, cassettes, master tapes, ADATS and scrapbooks I have accumulated over a long music career. All of this recorded media contains most of the source material of the 245 songs the BMI catalog says I have written.
While sorting through some of these things I have found several somewhat forgotten tracks that (to my mind) deserve resurrection.
This track is one such song. I think the overall message of the lyric still applies and is something I’ve been trying to say (in various ways) for a very long time. I also think the band plays very well on this one. The 5/4 theme that the piece keeps returning to is something I’m fond of. (This recording comes from an original analog multi-track tape.)
