This is a song written for my wife. Probably one of the best sets of “harmonic changes” I have came up with (so far). This recording is a favorite because it originally was done for a project which was all recorded “live in the studio.” My goal at the time was to make a record like they did at Blue Note Records or Riverside Records in New York in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. Just go in, set up and “go for it.”
No overdubs, no “punch-ins” and hope everyone got a take they can live with. I still think that is a good way to do it. I don’t think we did more than two takes on this one.
Michael and I still do this one in our live set and we have a few more outdoor gigs left this year and details can be found under the ‘shows” tab.
