September marked the 50th anniversary of the recording of jazz pianist Erroll Garner‘s classic album Concert By the Sea. Sony Records celebrates the anniversary of this classic record with the two-CD set called The Complete Concert By the Sea.
The entire concert is now available which includes many previously unreleased tracks plus a rare interview with Garner. A recent documentary called Erroll Garner (No One Can Hear You Read) is also available on DVD.
Garner was immensely popular during his short life but for some inexplicable reason has sort of fallen off the radar since 1977. These two projects hopefully rectify that situation.
