3 Piece Suite: Reynold, Al and Jeff

A nice departure from his solo work, Reynold enlists the very talented saxophonist Al Asmus and equally talented bassist Jeff Engholm to explore some of Reynold's innovative works. The first three tracks (Lisbon '65, The Laughing Cavalier and Sidewalk Cafe) provide the listener with some intriguing harmonic backdrops for melody and composition. These pieces were written years apart yet there are striking harmonic links and natural progression are evident as these tracks elegantly align together.

An EJazzNews.com reviewer states, this CD "carves out a discriminate piece of inventive & relevant music for today's taste, with a distinctive sound & style." A StarTribune reviewer stated, "Jazz guitarist Reynold Philipsek puts out at least one new album a year, but it's impressive how he manages to make each one different."

Two bonus tracks (East Side and July) are provided. Available only by Direct Order.Check out the recent in EJazzNews!
